 Shut Down a Computer Using Notepad

Believe it or not, it's possible to shut your Windows computer off without clicking the power button or accessing the Start menu. All you'll need it the most basic program of all - Notepad!

Steps

1.   

1. Open Notepad on your computer. It is located in Programs > Accessories > Notepad.

 

2.ype the following code into Notepad: "shutdown -s -t 45".

3.Now save the file in .bat format.

4.Run the batch file so formed. You will see a new window which will shut down the system in 45 seconds.

5. You can also rectify the shutdown process by running "shutdown -a".

·         After you're done with this, right click on the file and select "create a shortcut". After you make a shortcut, right click on the shortcut and click on "properties", go to the shortcut, click on "change icon", and finally select a icon of shutdown icon for it.
